Ain't Life Grand?
So, we've been hearing about this new bar downtown called Seven Grand. (It's at the corner of 7th and Grand - get it?) It's run by the same people who run Golden Gopher and The Broadway Bar - two of our favorite downtown haunts. Last Saturday, after the roller derby, we finally had the chance to check it out.
I was happy to discover that Seven Grand boasts a special menu featuring 125 whiskeys, and that they plan on adding 75 more in the coming months! Apparently, they go through a lot of Maker's Mark...
Seven Grand has an enticing, dark, intimate lounge vibe. There is a warm enclosed patio that runs the length of the bar. When you're at the Seven Grand, you almost feel like you're in New York. Here is the view from the patio...

At least I think that's Dina, Jason, and Eric. Maybe it's Jason, Gina, and Brian. Damn! Why do I try to take such arty pictures when I'm drinking?
At any rate, Seven Grand is a classy, comfortable bar with a classic speakeasy vibe. My only complaint is that - for a place specializing in whiskey - their logo seems to be a rip off of the Jagermeister logo.

You know that is Cedd Moses' place, Dave's partner in Liquid Kitty?
I didn't realize. The guy seems to know what he's doing. Does he have a part of any other bars? Liquid Kitty, Golden Gopher, Seven Grand, and the Broadway Bar are all favorites of ours.

Funny thing...I used to work for Cedd Moses when he was a money manager in Downtown LA. Really unusual guy but sweet.
